Apple Pie Smoothie

5 raw almonds
1 red apple
1 banana
3/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup nonfat milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Day 30 Smoothie of the Day: Avocado Gelato Smoothie

We used 1 avocado, 2 bananas, 2 servings of gelato, 2-3 cups of almond milk, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of almond butter (we used a vanilla bean espresso flavored one).

Taste: 9/10. It had a really thick, yogurt-like consistency, but I didn’t mind it because it was really good!

Fruity Striped Ice Cubes.

Because plain ice cubes are too boring. These ice cubes are made of fruit juice, smoothie and coconut milk. You could simply play around with any combinations you love.

Adds a whole new dimension to your drinks, not to mention its beauty. A sure conversation starter at any party. Great to get your picky kids to drink some fruity goodness too.

  • JUICES: I used store-bought grapefruit juice, mango juice, limeade, and made some strawberry/beet juice.
  • SMOOTHIES: I combined kiwi, cucumber, mint and lime make for a beautiful green smoothie blend.
  • COCONUT MILK: I layered a lot of these cubes with coconut milk, which can be poured right from the can.

Play around with your combination, the choices are endless.

My Metabolic Supercharge Smoothie with 1 crazy ingredient!

What it does: increases your metabolism (helping you to burn more fat), gives you energy, and puts you in a good mood

- 1 banana

- 1-1.5 cup kale

- 1/2 cup nonfat greek yogurt (vegans can sub tofu or soy yogurt)

- handful of ice

- 1/2 cup almond milk

- juice of 1 small lemon

- 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper <—- yup there it is! (If it’s your first time having pepper in a drink, I’d start with a pinch and add more as you get more advanced)

The spiciness in this drink from the pepper helps to raise your metabolism, and all the Vitamin C from the lemon and kale helps in the production of Carnitine which helps your body metabolize fat. Also, the banana provides a source of tryptophan which aids in relaxing your mind and lifting your mood. The protein in the yogurt keeps you full and ALSO your body takes 2x more energy to digest protein than carbs so eating more protein makes you burn more calories.

This is great as a morning breakfast! Or whenever you need something to SUPERCHARGE YOU!

232 cals and 16g of protein

Share this and keep it close to you! This smoothie is seriously a miracle!

Peach Ginger Mint Green Smoothie

This fresh, summery smoothie will quench your thirst and rejuvenate your cells! My ingredients veer a little from the smoothie ingredients we typically use. This one makes use of all of the produce (except ginger) you can find at your your local Farmer’s Market or food co-op right now! Since I have a smoothie recipe for winterspring, and autumn, I thought a summery green smoothie recipe needed to be posted. You can check out our Super Antioxidant Smoothie which does use summer produce (but it’s not green!).

Day 27 Smoothie of the Day: Mango-Kiwi Smoothie

We used 2 mangoes, 3 kiwis, 1 serving of spinach, ice, and coconut water.

As you can probably imagine, this smoothie tasted really healthy haha. We eventually added some agave to give it some sweetness. Overall, it was an ok-tasting smoothie, but super healthy!
